4	4	2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
5	5	3 Representatives wish to congratulate Glyn Ramage on the
6	6	4 occasion of his retirement as business manager of the
7	7	5 Downstate Illinois Laborers' District Council of the Laborers'
8	8	6 International Union of North America (LIUNA); and
9	9	7 WHEREAS, For the past 25 years, Glyn Ramage was elected to
10	10	8 represent over 3,000 LIUNA members in 12 counties in
11	11	9 Southwestern Illinois, as well as the newly organized
12	12	10 Downstate Illinois Laborers' District Council, representing
13	13	11 10,000 LIUNA members and 16 local unions within 58 counties of
14	14	12 Downstate Illinois; he first started working out of LIUNA
15	15	13 Local #100 at the age of 15 in 1972, becoming a card-carrying
16	16	14 member in 1977; during his tenure, he was elected to serve in
17	17	15 several positions with Local #100, including as a delegate to
18	18	16 the Downstate Illinois Laborers' District Council, as
19	19	17 recording secretary, and as president before being elected as
20	20	18 business manager of Local #100, serving in that position from
21	21	19 1992 until 2005; and
22	22	20 WHEREAS, Glyn Ramage has served as chairman on a number of
23	23	21 boards throughout his career, including the Capital
24	24	22 Development Board, the Foundation for Fair Contracting of
25	25	23 Southwestern Illinois, the Labor Management Work Preservation &

44	44	11 WHEREAS, Glyn Ramage has also served on several boards,
45	45	12 including the LIUNA Laborers' District Council Scholarship
46	46	13 Fund, the Central Laborers' Pension Fund, the Laborers' Home
47	47	14 Development Corporation, United Way, the Leadership Council of
48	48	15 Southwestern Illinois, the Labor Management Committee of
49	49	16 Southwestern Illinois, the St. Clair County Democratic
50	50	17 Screening Committee, the Council of Owners and Construction
51	51	18 Associates, Inc., the Mid America Workforce Investment Board,
52	52	19 Citizens for Modern Transit, the LIUNA Midwest Region
53	53	20 Foundation for Fair Contracting, the LIUNA Midwest Region
54	54	21 Organizing Committee, the LIUNA Midwest Region Laborers' -

68	68	1 WHEREAS, Glyn Ramage retired as business manager on
69	69	2 February 1, 2025; therefore, be it
70	70	3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
71	71	4 HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
72	72	5 we congratulate Glyn Ramage on his retirement as business
73	73	6 manager of the Downstate Illinois Laborers' District Council
74	74	7 of the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA),
75	75	8 and we recognize his dedication to and impact on LIUNA; and be
76	76	9 it further
77	77	10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
78	78	11 presented to Glyn Ramage as an expression of our esteem and
79	79	12 respect.
