11 | 11 | | 9 WHEREAS, Clarence Thomas served as the supervisor of |

12 | 12 | | 10 building and grounds for Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview School |
---|
13 | 13 | | 11 District 89, demonstrating his commitment to education and his |

14 | 14 | | 12 community's infrastructure; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | 13 WHEREAS, Clarence Thomas began his political career as a |
---|
16 | 16 | | 14 precinct captain for the 29th Ward Democratic Organization in |
---|
17 | 17 | | 15 1975; his career spanned across five decades while he served |
---|
18 | 18 | | 16 as an adviser on congressional, statewide, and county races |
---|
19 | 19 | | 17 for various candidates running for the U.S. Senate, Governor, |
---|
20 | 20 | | 18 State's Attorney, and county board seats; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | 19 WHEREAS, Clarence Thomas was elected as a trustee of |

22 | 22 | | 20 Proviso Township in 2017, and he was reelected in 2021, |
---|
23 | 23 | | 21 holding that position until his passing; and |
