4	4	2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
5	5	3 Representatives wish to congratulate the State Government
6	6	4 Affairs Council (SGAC) on the occasion of its 50th
7	7	5 anniversary; and
8	8	6 WHEREAS, SGAC, established in 1975, is the premier
9	9	7 national association for multi-state government affairs
10	10	8 professionals, providing opportunities for networking and
11	11	9 professional development; and
12	12	10 WHEREAS, SGAC provides support to the state government
13	13	11 affairs profession by fostering community and relationship
14	14	12 building with peers and elected officials, building knowledge,
15	15	13 and promoting diverse perspectives in a nonpartisan
16	16	14 environment; and
17	17	15 WHEREAS, SGAC members, including government affairs
18	18	16 professionals, have consistently worked to enhance
19	19	17 understanding and communication between the public and private
20	20	18 sectors, ensuring the fair representation of diverse
21	21	19 interests; in advocating for the advancement of policies that
22	22	20 promote unparalleled educational opportunities, the
23	23	21 organization provides a forum for members and policymakers to
24	24	22 convene and collaborate, thereby mentoring the next generation

34	34	2 aspects of diversity; and
35	35	3 WHEREAS, Through its collaboration with legislative
36	36	4 bodies, administrative agencies, and community stakeholders,
37	37	5 SGAC has helped build a more responsive, transparent, and
38	38	6 accountable government at the state level and has fostered a
39	39	7 forward-thinking platform for addressing emerging challenges
40	40	8 in state governance; and
41	41	9 WHEREAS, SGAC has created a legacy of fostering
42	42	10 leadership, training, and advocacy that has shaped the
43	43	11 professional development of thousands of individuals in the
44	44	12 field of government relations; and
45	45	13 WHEREAS, SGAC's 50th anniversary represents a milestone of
46	46	14 achievement and service in its ongoing commitment to
47	47	15 excellence in government affairs; therefore, be it
48	48	16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
49	49	17 HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
50	50	18 we congratulate the State Government Affairs Council (SGAC) on
51	51	19 achieving 50 years of dedicated service while making
52	52	20 significant contributions to enhancing the relationship
53	53	21 between state and local governments, businesses, and

69	69	5 RESOLVED, That we acknowledge SGAC and its members for
70	70	6 their enduring influence on state government affairs; and be

72	72	8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
73	73	9 presented to SGAC as an expression of our esteem and respect.
