311 1 AN ACT concerning gaming.
412 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
513 3 represented in the General Assembly:
614 4 Section 5. The Illinois Gambling Act is amended by
715 5 changing Section 5.4 as follows:

917 7 Sec. 5.4. Retired investigators and sworn law enforcement
1018 8 personnel Retiring investigators; purchase of service firearm
1119 9 and badge.
1220 10 (a) The Board shall establish a program to allow an
1321 11 investigator appointed under paragraph (20.6) of subsection
1422 12 (c) of Section 4 who is honorably retiring in good standing to
1523 13 purchase either one or both of the following: (1) any badge
1624 14 previously issued to the investigator by the Board; or (2) if
1725 15 the investigator has a currently valid Firearm Owner's
1826 16 Identification Card, the service firearm issued or previously
1927 17 issued to the investigator by the Board. The badge must be
2028 18 permanently and conspicuously marked in such a manner that the
2129 19 individual who possesses the badge is not mistaken for an
2230 20 actively serving law enforcement officer. The cost of the
2331 21 firearm shall be the replacement value of the firearm and not
2432 22 the firearm's fair market value.

3468 1 (1) allow sworn law enforcement personnel employed by
3569 2 the Board who retire in good standing to keep their
3670 3 previously issued Board identification cards. The Board
3771 4 shall stamp in red lettering "RETIRED" recognizing their
3872 5 retired status; or
3973 6 (2) issue photographic identification cards to sworn
4074 7 law enforcement personnel employed by the Board who retire
4175 8 in good standing that indicate their separation from
4276 9 service and identify the person as having been employed by
4377 10 the Board as sworn law enforcement personnel.
4478 11 If a Board-issued identification card described in this
4579 12 subsection is lost or stolen, the Board shall immediately
4680 13 reissue a replacement identification card that meets the
4781 14 requirements of paragraph (1) or (2) upon written request by
4882 15 the retired sworn law enforcement personnel.

50-17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
