1111 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by changing
1515 5 Section 8b as follows:

1717 7 Sec. 8b. Jurisdiction B - Merit and fitness.
1818 8 (a) For positions in the State service subject to the
1919 9 jurisdiction of the Department of Central Management Services
2020 10 with respect to selection and tenure on the basis of merit and
2121 11 fitness, those matters specified in this Section and Sections
2222 12 8b.1 through 8b.17.
2323 13 (b) Application, testing and hiring procedures for all
2424 14 State employment vacancies for positions not exempt under
2525 15 Section 4c shall be reduced to writing and made available to
2626 16 the public via the Department's website or equivalent. All
2727 17 vacant positions subject to Jurisdiction B shall be posted.
2828 18 Vacant positions shall be posted on the Department's website
2929 19 in such a way that potential job candidates can easily
3030 20 identify and apply for job openings and identify the county in
3131 21 which the vacancy is located. Vacant positions shall be
3232 22 updated at least weekly.
3333 23 (c) If a position experiences a vacancy rate that is
