11	11	1 AN ACT concerning State government.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by changing
15	15	5 Section 8b as follows:

17	17	7 Sec. 8b. Jurisdiction B - Merit and fitness.
18	18	8 (a) For positions in the State service subject to the
19	19	9 jurisdiction of the Department of Central Management Services
20	20	10 with respect to selection and tenure on the basis of merit and
21	21	11 fitness, those matters specified in this Section and Sections
22	22	12 8b.1 through 8b.17.
23	23	13 (b) Application, testing and hiring procedures for all
24	24	14 State employment vacancies for positions not exempt under
25	25	15 Section 4c shall be reduced to writing and made available to
26	26	16 the public via the Department's website or equivalent. All
27	27	17 vacant positions subject to Jurisdiction B shall be posted.
28	28	18 Vacant positions shall be posted on the Department's website
29	29	19 in such a way that potential job candidates can easily
30	30	20 identify and apply for job openings and identify the county in
31	31	21 which the vacancy is located. Vacant positions shall be
32	32	22 updated at least weekly.
