14 | 14 | | 4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by |

17 | 17 | | 7 Sec. 12-201. When lighted lamps are required. |
---|
18 | 18 | | 8 (a) When operated upon any highway in this State, every |
---|
19 | 19 | | 9 motorcycle shall at all times exhibit at least one lighted |
---|
20 | 20 | | 10 lamp, showing a white light visible for at least 500 feet in |
---|
21 | 21 | | 11 the direction the motorcycle is proceeding. However, in lieu |
---|
22 | 22 | | 12 of such lighted lamp, a motorcycle may be equipped with and use |
---|
23 | 23 | | 13 a means of modulating the upper beam of the head lamp between |
---|
24 | 24 | | 14 high and a lower brightness. No such head lamp shall be |
---|
25 | 25 | | 15 modulated, except to otherwise comply with this Code, during |
---|
26 | 26 | | 16 times when lighted lamps are required for other motor |
---|
27 | 27 | | 17 vehicles. |

77 | 77 | | 10 shall be mounted on the left rearmost and right rearmost of the |
---|
78 | 78 | | 11 vehicle so as to throw a red light visible for at least 500 |
---|
79 | 79 | | 12 feet in the reverse direction, except that a truck tractor or |
---|
80 | 80 | | 13 road tractor manufactured before January 1, 1968 and all |
---|
81 | 81 | | 14 motorcycles need be equipped with only one such tail lamp. |
---|
82 | 82 | | 15 (c) Either a tail lamp or a separate lamp shall be so |
---|
83 | 83 | | 16 constructed and placed as to illuminate with a white light a |
---|
84 | 84 | | 17 rear registration plate when required and render it clearly |
---|
85 | 85 | | 18 legible from a distance of 50 feet to the rear. Any tail lamp |
---|
86 | 86 | | 19 or tail lamps, together with any separate lamp or lamps for |
---|
87 | 87 | | 20 illuminating a rear registration plate, shall be so wired as |
