1 AN ACT concerning criminal law.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Kratom Control Act is amended by changing
5 Section 5 as follows:
6 (720 ILCS 642/5)
7 Sec. 5. Kratom sale to or possession by minors prohibited.
8 (a) As used in this Act, "Kratom" means any parts of the
9 plant Mitragyna speciosa, whether growing or not, and any
10 compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or
11 preparation of that plant, including but not limited to
12 mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.
13 (b) A person minor under 18 years of age shall not
14 knowingly purchase or possess any product containing any
15 quantity of Kratom.
16 (c) (Blank). A minor under 18 years of age in the
17 furtherance or facilitation of obtaining any product
18 containing Kratom shall not knowingly display or use a false
19 or forged identification card or transfer, alter, or deface an
20 identification card.
21 (d) A person shall not knowingly sell, buy for, distribute
22 samples of, or furnish any product containing any quantity of
23 Kratom to any person minor under 18 years of age.
