1313 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1414 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1515 4 Section 5. The Freedom of Information Act is amended by
1616 5 changing Section 7.5 as follows:

1818 7 Sec. 7.5. Statutory exemptions. To the extent provided for
1919 8 by the statutes referenced below, the following shall be

398398 4 Section 10. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business

401401 7 Sec. 4.1. Confidential information. Information and
402402 8 documentary materials that are obtained by the Attorney
403403 9 General or a State's Attorney under Section 4 of this Act are
404404 10 exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.
405405 11 This exemption shall apply to all information and documentary
406406 12 materials the Attorney General or a State's Attorney obtains
407407 13 through an investigation under this Act.
408408 14 (1) Except as otherwise provided in this Section, no
409409 15 documentary materials, transcripts of oral testimony, or
410410 16 answers to interrogatories, or copies thereof, in the
411411 17 possession of the Attorney General shall be available for
412412 18 examination by any individual other than an authorized
413413 19 employee of the Attorney General or other law enforcement
414414 20 officials, federal, State, or local, without the consent
415415 21 of the person who produced the documentary materials,
416416 22 transcripts, or interrogatory answers. The Attorney
417417 23 General may provide copies of such documentary material,
418418 24 answers to written interrogatories, or transcripts of oral
