1111 1 AN ACT concerning government.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Time Standardization Act is amended by
1515 5 changing Section 1 as follows:
1616 6 (5 ILCS 440/1) (from Ch. 1, par. 3201)
1717 7 Sec. 1. Notwithstanding how time is advanced pursuant to
1818 8 the federal Uniform Time Act of 1966, 15 U.S.C. 260a, at At two
1919 9 o'clock ante meridian of the second Sunday in March of 2026
2020 10 each year, the standard time in this State shall be advanced
2121 11 one hour; and thereafter, daylight saving time shall be the
2222 12 year-round standard time of the entire State , and at two
2323 13 o'clock ante meridian of the first Sunday in November of each
2424 14 year the standard time in this State shall, by the retarding of
2525 15 one hour, be made to coincide with the mean astronomical time
2626 16 of the ninety degrees of longitude West from Greenwich, the
2727 17 standard official time of which is described as United States
2828 18 standard central time, so that between the second Sunday of
2929 19 March at two o'clock ante meridian in each year and the first
3030 20 Sunday in November at two o'clock ante meridian in each year
3131 21 the standard time in this State shall be one hour in advance of
3232 22 the United States standard central time: Provided, however,
3333 23 that nothing in this Act shall be so construed as to be in

6868 1 contravention of any federal law or authorized order of the
6969 2 Interstate Commerce Commission with respect to the time zones
7070 3 of the United States. And in all laws, statutes, orders,
7171 4 judgments, rules and regulations relating to the time of
7272 5 performance of any act of any officer or department of this
7373 6 State, or of any county, township, city or town, municipal
7474 7 corporation, agency or instrumentality of the State, or school
7575 8 district or school authority or relating to the time in which
7676 9 any rights shall accrue or determine, or within which any act
7777 10 shall or shall not be performed by any person subject to the
7878 11 jurisdiction of the State, and in all the public schools and in
7979 12 all institutions of the State, or of any county, township,
8080 13 city or town, municipal corporation, agency or instrumentality
8181 14 of the State or school district or school authority, and in all
8282 15 contracts or choses in action made or to be performed in the
8383 16 State, it shall be understood and intended that the time shall
8484 17 be the time prescribed in this Section.
8585 18 If the date on which time is to be advanced one hour, the
8686 19 date on which time is to be retarded one hour, or both, as set
8787 20 forth under Section 260a of the federal Uniform Time Act of
8888 21 1966 (15 U.S.C. 260a), as now or hereafter amended,
8989 22 renumbered, or succeeded, differs from either or both of those
9090 23 dates as set forth under this Section, then the dates set forth
9191 24 under the federal law shall control and shall apply in
9292 25 Illinois, notwithstanding the dates set forth in this Section.
