11	11	1 AN ACT concerning government.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Time Standardization Act is amended by
15	15	5 changing Section 1 as follows:
16	16	6 (5 ILCS 440/1) (from Ch. 1, par. 3201)
17	17	7 Sec. 1. Notwithstanding how time is advanced pursuant to
18	18	8 the federal Uniform Time Act of 1966, 15 U.S.C. 260a, at At two
19	19	9 o'clock ante meridian of the second Sunday in March of 2026
20	20	10 each year, the standard time in this State shall be advanced
21	21	11 one hour; and thereafter, daylight saving time shall be the
22	22	12 year-round standard time of the entire State , and at two
23	23	13 o'clock ante meridian of the first Sunday in November of each
24	24	14 year the standard time in this State shall, by the retarding of
25	25	15 one hour, be made to coincide with the mean astronomical time
26	26	16 of the ninety degrees of longitude West from Greenwich, the
27	27	17 standard official time of which is described as United States
28	28	18 standard central time, so that between the second Sunday of
29	29	19 March at two o'clock ante meridian in each year and the first
30	30	20 Sunday in November at two o'clock ante meridian in each year
31	31	21 the standard time in this State shall be one hour in advance of
32	32	22 the United States standard central time: Provided, however,
33	33	23 that nothing in this Act shall be so construed as to be in

68	68	1 contravention of any federal law or authorized order of the
69	69	2 Interstate Commerce Commission with respect to the time zones
70	70	3 of the United States. And in all laws, statutes, orders,
71	71	4 judgments, rules and regulations relating to the time of
72	72	5 performance of any act of any officer or department of this
73	73	6 State, or of any county, township, city or town, municipal
74	74	7 corporation, agency or instrumentality of the State, or school
75	75	8 district or school authority or relating to the time in which
76	76	9 any rights shall accrue or determine, or within which any act
77	77	10 shall or shall not be performed by any person subject to the
78	78	11 jurisdiction of the State, and in all the public schools and in
79	79	12 all institutions of the State, or of any county, township,
80	80	13 city or town, municipal corporation, agency or instrumentality
81	81	14 of the State or school district or school authority, and in all
82	82	15 contracts or choses in action made or to be performed in the
83	83	16 State, it shall be understood and intended that the time shall
84	84	17 be the time prescribed in this Section.
85	85	18 If the date on which time is to be advanced one hour, the
86	86	19 date on which time is to be retarded one hour, or both, as set
87	87	20 forth under Section 260a of the federal Uniform Time Act of
88	88	21 1966 (15 U.S.C. 260a), as now or hereafter amended,
89	89	22 renumbered, or succeeded, differs from either or both of those
90	90	23 dates as set forth under this Section, then the dates set forth
91	91	24 under the federal law shall control and shall apply in
92	92	25 Illinois, notwithstanding the dates set forth in this Section.
