Requires the Department of Transportation to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the costs and benefits of the construction of the South Suburban Airport. Prohibits the State from allocating any additional funds to the construction of the South Suburban Airport until the analysis is completed. 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the
5 Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding
6 Section 2705-627 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 2705/2705-627 new)
8 Sec. 2705-627. South Suburban Airport analysis. The
9 Department shall conduct a comprehensive analysis of the costs
10 and benefits of the construction of the South Suburban
11 Airport. The State shall not allocate any additional funds to
12 the construction of the South Suburban Airport until the
13 analysis is completed. The Department shall not use any funds
14 granted to it under the Airport Improvement Program for the
15 construction of the South Suburban Airport until the analysis
16 is completed. Any request for proposal under the Department's
17 current request for quote process submitted to the Department
18 after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 104th
19 General Assembly shall require any private developer to
20 certify to the Department that no additional funds will be
21 used for the construction of the South Suburban Airport until
22 the analysis is completed.
23 For the purpose of this Section, "funds" includes any
