14 | 14 | | 3 represented in the General Assembly: |
---|
15 | 15 | | 4 Section 5. The Illinois Solid Waste Management Act is |

16 | 16 | | 5 amended by changing Sections 2 and 2.1 as follows: |

17 | 17 | | 6 (415 ILCS 20/2) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 7052) |
---|
18 | 18 | | 7 Sec. 2. Public Policy. (a) The General Assembly finds: |

19 | 19 | | 8 (1) that current solid waste disposal practices are not |

20 | 20 | | 9 adequate to address the needs of many metropolitan areas in |
---|
21 | 21 | | 10 Illinois; |
---|
22 | 22 | | 11 (2) that the generation of solid waste is increasing while |
---|
23 | 23 | | 12 landfill capacity is decreasing; |

24 | 24 | | 13 (3) that siting of new landfills, transfer stations, |

29 | 29 | | 18 (4) that more effective and efficient management of solid |

---|
147 | 147 | | 5 (b) It is the purpose of this Act to reduce reliance on |
