44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
55 3 to learn of the death of Aaron LaShawn Pittman-Teague, who
66 4 passed away on January 6, 2025; and
77 5 WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague was born to Josephine L.
88 6 Teague and Aaron L. Pittman in Kankakee on October 23, 1995; he
99 7 was raised in the Bourbonnais area; he completed his
1010 8 elementary and high school education in Kankakee and
1111 9 Marseilles, where he excelled in sports, particularly
1212 10 wrestling and football; he graduated from Ottawa Township High
1313 11 School and pursued higher education at Illinois Valley
1414 12 Community College; he later returned to Bourbonnais; he
1515 13 married his wife, Melissa, in 2023, and he embraced the role of
1616 14 bonus dad to her daughter, Emery; and
1717 15 WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague began working as a full-time
1818 16 temporary highway maintainer for the Illinois Department of
1919 17 Transportation (IDOT) in November 2023; he also served such
2020 18 organizations as DHL and the Illinois Department of
2121 19 Corrections; throughout his professional career, he was noted
2222 20 for demonstrating a remarkable work ethic; and
2323 21 WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague was a passionate music
2424 22 enthusiast and dedicated much of his time to his studio,

3333 1 managing artists and recording his own music; his work as a
3434 2 creative sound engineer earned him credits in various films,
3535 3 and he owned a label in partnership with Universal Records;

3737 5 WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague was deeply involved in his
3838 6 community, coaching youth basketball and sharing his love for
3939 7 sports and fishing with those around him; and
4040 8 WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague, often referred to as a
4141 9 "gentle giant", was known for his kindness, humor, and
4242 10 generosity; he will be remembered for his infectious energy
4343 11 and his passion for family; and
4444 12 WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague's tragic loss deeply
4545 13 saddened the entire team of IDOT, as all IDOT workers in the
4646 14 field share a bond as they selflessly strive to keep the public
4747 15 safe; and
4848 16 WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague was preceded in death by his
4949 17 great-grandmother, Rosie L. Teague, and his grandmother,
5050 18 Waneda Pittman; and
5151 19 WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague is survived by his wife,
5252 20 Melissa; his stepdaughter, Emery; his parents; his
5353 21 grandmother, Ruthel Teague; his siblings, Zaida Teague-Calvin,
