1  SENATE RESOLUTION
2  WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3  to learn of the death of William H. "Bill" Wilkinson of
4  Wyoming, Illinois who passed away on November 29, 2024; and
5  WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson was born to Harold and Betty
6  (Graves) Wilkinson in Kewanee on September 16, 1942; he
7  graduated from Wyoming Community High School in 1961; he
8  served in the U.S. Army, and he was stationed in Iran during
9  the Vietnam War; he was awarded a National Defense Service
10  Sharpshooter (rifle) Medal for his service; he married Susan
11  C. Hill on June 26, 1971; and
12  WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson worked as a diesel mechanic for
13  Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years; and
14  WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson belonged to the Chillicothe
15  Sportsmen's Club, where he enjoyed volunteering and shooting
16  his weekly target practice; fishing was another of his
17  lifelong interests; and
18  WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson's skills in carpentry, plumbing,
19  welding, farming, gardening, and working on electrical and
20  mechanical projects kept him busy on his farm and with helping
21  his friends and family; and

1  WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson was preceded in death by his wife;
2  his parents; his sister, Becky (Steve) Bogner; his niece,
3  Jennifer Wilkinson; his nephew, Michael Kenyon; and his
4  brothers-in-law, Ed (Pat) Borop and Melvin "Lyle" (Chris) Hill
5  II; and
6  WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson is survived by his children,
7  Christina (Jim) Lauwerens, Anita Wilkinson, and Raymond
8  (fiance Robin) Wilkinson; five grandchildren; his siblings,
9  Jim (Barb) Wilkinson, Jeanette Wilkinson, Pat Borop, Rhonda
10  Wilkinson, and David Wilkinson; and many nieces, nephews,
11  great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
12  RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
13  ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14  William H. "Bill" Wilkinson and extend our sincere condolences
15  to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
16  it further
