7 | 7 | | 5 WHEREAS, Dr. Parr was born in Mason City to Virtus and |

8 | 8 | | 6 Gertrude (Spencer) Parr on February 26, 1935; he graduated |

9 | 9 | | 7 from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science in |
---|
10 | 10 | | 8 Chemistry and Biology in 1957; he then graduated from the |

11 | 11 | | 9 University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago in 1962; |
---|
12 | 12 | | 10 he completed his residency at Decatur and Macon County |
---|
13 | 13 | | 11 Hospital in Decatur; he also completed a residency in family |
---|
14 | 14 | | 12 practice at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria with the |
---|
15 | 15 | | 13 University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria; he was |
---|
16 | 16 | | 14 married to Loretta Jean Combs for 23 years and later to |
---|
17 | 17 | | 15 Kathleen McKenna for 13 years; and |

18 | 18 | | 16 WHEREAS, Dr. Parr was drafted into the U.S. Navy and |

19 | 19 | | 17 served in the U.S. Air Force as captain and a flight surgeon |

20 | 20 | | 18 for the Air Defense Squadron at Loring Air Force Base in |

21 | 21 | | 19 Caribou, Maine from 1963 to 1965; he also had attended the |

22 | 22 | | 20 School of Aerospace Medicine in San Antonio, Texas; and |

23 | 23 | | 21 WHEREAS, Dr. Parr established his private practice in |

24 | 24 | | 22 Tremont in 1965 following his military service; his practice |
