3	3	1 SENATE RESOLUTION
4	4	2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
5	5	3 to learn of the death of A. Dale Huston of Springfield, who
6	6	4 passed away on January 20, 2025; and
7	7	5 WHEREAS, Dale Huston, the son of Frederic W. "Ted" and
8	8	6 Dorothy B. (Jardine) Huston, was born in Gibson City on
9	9	7 September 5, 1940; he was raised on a livestock farm near
10	10	8 Gibson City, graduating from the local high school; he earned
11	11	9 a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from the University of
12	12	10 Illinois; he also graduated from the Illinois Bankers
13	13	11 Association School of Banking at Southern Illinois University
14	14	12 Carbondale, the Graduate School of Banking at the University
15	15	13 of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Senior Commercial Lenders School
16	16	14 at the University of Oklahoma Norman; he married Judy A. Dube
17	17	15 at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas in 1963; and
18	18	16 WHEREAS, Dale Huston belonged to the Reserve Officers'
19	19	17 Training Corps (ROTC) program while attending the University
20	20	18 of Illinois, where he received his commission as a second
21	21	19 lieutenant; he served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era
22	22	20 from 1962 to 1964, and he was assigned to the 6th Missile
23	23	21 Battalion (HAWK), 71st Artillery, Fort Bliss, Texas; he then
24	24	22 served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1965 to 1969; and

33	33	1 WHEREAS, Dale Huston worked for the Fox Valley Production
34	34	2 Credit Association, part of the Farm Credit System, the
35	35	3 original Illinois National Bank, which became First of America
36	36	4 Bank, and National City Bank; he retired as executive vice
37	37	5 president in charge of the Commercial Loan Division and other
38	38	6 management responsibilities in 2000 after a total of 32 years
39	39	7 with the bank; he joined the Geneva Mortgage Corporation as an
40	40	8 associate in 2000, originating commercial real estate loans
41	41	9 for various investors; he joined Hickory Point Bank as a
42	42	10 senior relationship manager in 2011, where he served on the
43	43	11 Loan Committee; after a 50-year career in banking, he retired
44	44	12 in 2018; and
45	45	13 WHEREAS, Dale Huston was a member of Westminster
46	46	14 Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, an elder,
47	47	15 and a chairman of the Deacon Committee, the Endowment
48	48	16 Committee, and the Property Committee; he was a member of
49	49	17 Illini Country Club, the Springfield South Rotary Club, and
50	50	18 the Springfield Downtown Rotary Club; he served as president
51	51	19 and on the board of the Mental Health Centers of Central
52	52	20 Illinois; he was a board member of the Springfield Chamber of
53	53	21 Commerce, where he served on the Audit and Economic
54	54	22 Development Committees and was chairman of the EDC; he also
55	55	23 served on the boards of the Springfield Jaycees, the Small
56	56	24 Business Growth Corporation, Downtown Springfield, Inc., the
57	57	25 Downtown Springfield Heritage Foundation, and the Springfield

69	69	2 WHEREAS, Dale Huston enjoyed spending time with his
70	70	3 family, especially during family trips to the beach and when
71	71	4 he took his grandchildren to Eaton Ranch in Wyoming; his other
72	72	5 interests included following University of Illinois sports,
73	73	6 bird hunting, gardening, reading, studying family genealogy,
74	74	7 overseeing his farmland, and listening to classic country
75	75	8 music, bagpipes, old hymns, and music from the 1970s and
76	76	9 1980s; and
77	77	10 WHEREAS, Dale Huston was preceded in death by his parents
78	78	11 and his brother, Frederic (Bill) W. Huston Jr.; and
79	79	12 WHEREAS, Dale Huston is survived by his wife, Judy Huston;
80	80	13 his children, Chad (Kara) Huston and Dana Huston; three
81	81	14 grandchildren; his brother, Dennis (Irja) Huston; and two
82	82	15 nieces and their families; therefore, be it
83	83	16 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
84	84	17 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
85	85	18 A. Dale Huston and extend our sincere condolences to his
86	86	19 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
87	87	20 further
88	88	21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
