44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
55 3 to learn of the death of A. Dale Huston of Springfield, who
66 4 passed away on January 20, 2025; and
77 5 WHEREAS, Dale Huston, the son of Frederic W. "Ted" and
88 6 Dorothy B. (Jardine) Huston, was born in Gibson City on
99 7 September 5, 1940; he was raised on a livestock farm near
1010 8 Gibson City, graduating from the local high school; he earned
1111 9 a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from the University of
1212 10 Illinois; he also graduated from the Illinois Bankers
1313 11 Association School of Banking at Southern Illinois University
1414 12 Carbondale, the Graduate School of Banking at the University
1515 13 of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Senior Commercial Lenders School
1616 14 at the University of Oklahoma Norman; he married Judy A. Dube
1717 15 at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas in 1963; and
1818 16 WHEREAS, Dale Huston belonged to the Reserve Officers'
1919 17 Training Corps (ROTC) program while attending the University
2020 18 of Illinois, where he received his commission as a second
2121 19 lieutenant; he served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era
2222 20 from 1962 to 1964, and he was assigned to the 6th Missile
2323 21 Battalion (HAWK), 71st Artillery, Fort Bliss, Texas; he then
2424 22 served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1965 to 1969; and

3333 1 WHEREAS, Dale Huston worked for the Fox Valley Production
3434 2 Credit Association, part of the Farm Credit System, the
3535 3 original Illinois National Bank, which became First of America
3636 4 Bank, and National City Bank; he retired as executive vice
3737 5 president in charge of the Commercial Loan Division and other
3838 6 management responsibilities in 2000 after a total of 32 years
3939 7 with the bank; he joined the Geneva Mortgage Corporation as an
4040 8 associate in 2000, originating commercial real estate loans
4141 9 for various investors; he joined Hickory Point Bank as a
4242 10 senior relationship manager in 2011, where he served on the
4343 11 Loan Committee; after a 50-year career in banking, he retired
4444 12 in 2018; and
4545 13 WHEREAS, Dale Huston was a member of Westminster
4646 14 Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, an elder,
4747 15 and a chairman of the Deacon Committee, the Endowment
4848 16 Committee, and the Property Committee; he was a member of
4949 17 Illini Country Club, the Springfield South Rotary Club, and
5050 18 the Springfield Downtown Rotary Club; he served as president
5151 19 and on the board of the Mental Health Centers of Central
5252 20 Illinois; he was a board member of the Springfield Chamber of
5353 21 Commerce, where he served on the Audit and Economic
5454 22 Development Committees and was chairman of the EDC; he also
5555 23 served on the boards of the Springfield Jaycees, the Small
5656 24 Business Growth Corporation, Downtown Springfield, Inc., the
5757 25 Downtown Springfield Heritage Foundation, and the Springfield

6969 2 WHEREAS, Dale Huston enjoyed spending time with his
7070 3 family, especially during family trips to the beach and when
7171 4 he took his grandchildren to Eaton Ranch in Wyoming; his other
7272 5 interests included following University of Illinois sports,
7373 6 bird hunting, gardening, reading, studying family genealogy,
7474 7 overseeing his farmland, and listening to classic country
7575 8 music, bagpipes, old hymns, and music from the 1970s and
7676 9 1980s; and
7777 10 WHEREAS, Dale Huston was preceded in death by his parents
7878 11 and his brother, Frederic (Bill) W. Huston Jr.; and
7979 12 WHEREAS, Dale Huston is survived by his wife, Judy Huston;
8080 13 his children, Chad (Kara) Huston and Dana Huston; three
8181 14 grandchildren; his brother, Dennis (Irja) Huston; and two
8282 15 nieces and their families; therefore, be it
8383 16 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
8484 17 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8585 18 A. Dale Huston and extend our sincere condolences to his
8686 19 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8787 20 further
