44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
55 3 to learn of the death of Cheryl Lynn (Dolderer) Shultz of
66 4 Harrisburg, who passed away on December 15, 2024; and
77 5 WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz was born to Richard J. and Dorothy
88 6 (Stefanovits) Dolderer in Northlake on February 7, 1956; she
99 7 graduated from Barrington High School in 1974; she later
1010 8 graduated from Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) in 1991;
1111 9 she married John Shultz on August 15, 1992; she earned a
1212 10 bachelor's degree in education from Southern Illinois
1313 11 University Carbondale in 2003, graduating summa cum laude; and
1414 12 WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz worked in retail sales and
1515 13 management from 1981 to 1989; after earning a degree in
1616 14 education, she worked as a special education teacher for
1717 15 Harrisburg Unit 3 School District for 14 years; after her
1818 16 retirement, she taught at New Hope Christian Academy from fall
1919 17 2018 to spring 2020; she continued tutoring and substitute
2020 18 teaching, mainly for Harrisburg Unit 3 School District, and
2121 19 she also served as an adjunct instructor of mathematics at SIC
2222 20 for six years; and
2323 21 WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz was committed to her faith and a
2424 22 member of Aldersgate Global Methodist Church in Marion, where

3333 1 she was a member of the church choir and the chime choir; and
3434 2 WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz loved cross-stitch and needlepoint;
3535 3 she was proud of her Chicago roots and was a devoted Chicago
3636 4 Bears and Chicago Cubs fan; she was an excellent cook and
3737 5 baker, and she enjoyed hosting family dinners; she also loved
3838 6 working jigsaw puzzles with her dear friends at the Harrisburg
3939 7 District Library; and
4040 8 WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz was a loving and devoted wife,
4141 9 mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; and
4242 10 WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz was preceded in death by her
4343 11 parents; and
4444 12 WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz is survived by her husband, John;
4545 13 her children, James (Susan) Cirigliano and Kathryn (Riley)
4646 14 Swinford; two grandchildren; her siblings, JoAnna Hosch, Rick
4747 15 (Denise) Dolderer, and David (Nicole) Dolderer; her faithful
4848 16 companions, Finn and Henry; and several nieces, nephews, and
4949 17 friends; therefore, be it
5050 18 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
5151 19 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5252 20 Cheryl Lynn (Dolderer) Shultz and extend our sincere
5353 21 condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
