44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
55 3 to learn of the death of Diane Marie (Flamm) McCleland, who
66 4 passed away on December 16, 2024; and
77 5 WHEREAS, Diane McCleland was born to Robert Flamm and
88 6 Martha (Basler) Flamm in Anna on April 16, 1952; she graduated
99 7 from Cobden High School; she married Michael McCleland in
1010 8 1971; and
1111 9 WHEREAS, Diane McCleland worked as a reading specialist at
1212 10 Lincoln Elementary School in Anna for over two decades, and
1313 11 she was noted for her kindness by countless former students;
1414 12 and
1515 13 WHEREAS, Diane McCleland and her friends marched as
1616 14 costumed troupes in the Cobden Peach Festival Parade every
1717 15 year; and
1818 16 WHEREAS, Diane McCleland enjoyed walking, cycling, and
1919 17 running with her friends; she was an avid runner who completed
2020 18 her first marathon at the age of 60 in 2012; she also loved
2121 19 enjoying the outdoors and climbing mountains with her family

3131 1 WHEREAS, Diane McCleland was a loving mother and wife, a
3232 2 doting grandmother, a caring sister, a favorite aunt, and a
3333 3 thoughtful and loyal friend; and
3434 4 WHEREAS, Diane McCleland was preceded in death by her
3535 5 parents and her brother-in-law, Donnie Campbell; and
3636 6 WHEREAS, Diane McCleland is survived by her husband,
3737 7 Michael; her sons, Jerod McCleland and Jacob McCleland; her
3838 8 daughter-in-law, Alessandra Perez de McCleland; two
3939 9 grandchildren; and her sisters, Theresa Hatley, Roberta
4040 10 Vanover, Nancy Flamm, and Toni Campbell; therefore, be it
4141 11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
4242 12 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4343 13 Diane Marie (Flamm) McCleland and extend our sincere
4444 14 condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
