44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
55 3 to learn of the death of Esther Irene Bruns Kinner, who passed
66 4 away on January 25, 2025; and
77 5 WHEREAS, Esther Kinner was born to Lawrence Fredrick and
88 6 Mayme (Klokkenga) Bruns on March 19, 1948; at age 16, she began
99 7 a 50-plus year career in the competitive events office during
1010 8 the Illinois State Fair; she graduated from San Jose High
1111 9 School; she received a bachelor's degree in education from
1212 10 Illinois State University and a master's degree from Saint
1313 11 Xavier University; she married William David "Bill" Kinner on
1414 12 November 17, 2024; and
1515 13 WHEREAS, Esther Kinner began teaching music at the
1616 14 elementary schools in Pleasant Plains School District #8 in
1717 15 1970, retiring in 2005; she continued to provide piano lessons
1818 16 after retirement; and
1919 17 WHEREAS, Esther Kinner was a member and elder of
2020 18 Farmingdale Presbyterian Church and the Women's Ruth Circle;
2121 19 she was an active member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and
2222 20 Kappa Delta Omega; and
2323 21 WHEREAS, Esther Kinner was an avid attendee of the

3333 2 WHEREAS, Esther Kinner was preceded in death by her
3434 3 parents; her sister, Carol; and her niece, Trudi; and
3535 4 WHEREAS, Esther Kinner is survived by her husband, Bill;
3636 5 her sister, Faye (Bill Lawson) Bruns; her "adopted" sister,
3737 6 Patty Taylor; her stepdaughters, Kristine (fiance, Sheldon
3838 7 Fairfield) Clemens and Dawn (John) Weatherford; four
3939 8 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandsons; her
4040 9 sister-in-law, Carol (Bob) Pappas; her brothers-in-law, Rick
4141 10 (Mary) Kinner and Tim (Cynde) Kinner; and several nieces,
4242 11 nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
4343 12 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
4444 13 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4545 14 Esther Irene Bruns Kinner and extend our sincere condolences
4646 15 to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
