5 | 5 | | 3 to learn of the death of John H. "Jack" Long of Springfield, |

6 | 6 | | 4 who passed away on March 9, 2025; and |

7 | 7 | | 5 WHEREAS, Jack Long was born in Jacksonville to Walter |

8 | 8 | | 6 Myron and Kathleen Vortman Long on September 29, 1939; he |

9 | 9 | | 7 served in the U.S. Army; he married Rosemarie Feleccia on |
---|
10 | 10 | | 8 August 10, 1963; and |
---|
11 | 11 | | 9 WHEREAS, Jack Long was a bricklayer and worked for |
---|
12 | 12 | | 10 Pillsbury; he retired from the State of Illinois as a |
---|
13 | 13 | | 11 stationary engineer; he also served as the assessor for |
---|
14 | 14 | | 12 Springfield Township from 1993 to 2009; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | 13 WHEREAS, Jack Long's passion was spending time playing |
---|
16 | 16 | | 14 golf with his friends and family; he was also an avid sports |
---|
17 | 17 | | 15 fan, and his favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals and |
---|
18 | 18 | | 16 the St. Louis Rams; he was also a University of Illinois fan |
---|
19 | 19 | | 17 and enjoyed watching games with his family and friends; he was |
---|
20 | 20 | | 18 a coach for the Dale Teubner Memorial Little League and 5th and |

21 | 21 | | 19 6th grade basketball at St. Cabrini; he also was a major |

22 | 22 | | 20 supporter of Williamsville girls softball and loved watching |

23 | 23 | | 21 his two youngest granddaughters pitch; and |
