7+Synopsis: Requirements for SNAP participants. Provides that the
8+division of family resources (division) of the family and social services
9+administration shall require noncustodial parents to cooperate with the
10+child support bureau as a condition of eligibility for assistance under
11+the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Requires the
12+division to disqualify an individual from receiving assistance under
13+SNAP during any 45-day period in which the individual is delinquent
14+in any payment due under a child support order. Requires the division
15+to assign individuals who are subject to federal work requirements for
16+SNAP eligibility to an employment and training program.

34+A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
35+human services.
1336 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
14-SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] (a) The legislative
15-council is urged to assign to the appropriate interim study
16-committee the following topics:
17-(1) Requiring custodial and noncustodial parents to cooperate
18-with the child support bureau as a condition for SNAP
19-eligibility under 7 CFR 273.11.
20-(2) Assigning individuals who are subject to the work
21-requirements established under 7 U.S.C. 2015(d)(1) to an
22-employment and training program (as defined in 7 U.S.C.
23-2015(d)(4)(B)).
24-(b) This SECTION expires January 1, 2023.
25-SECTION 2. An emergency is declared for this act.

37+1 SECTION 1. IC 12-14-30-7.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA
38+2 CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS
39+3 [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2022]: Sec. 7.5. (a) Subject to 7 CFR
40+4 273.11(o) and 7 CFR 273.11(p), the division shall require
41+5 noncustodial parents to cooperate with the child support bureau as
42+6 a condition of SNAP eligibility.
43+7 (b) Subject to 7 CFR 273.11(q), the division shall disqualify
44+8 from participation in SNAP an individual during any forty-five
45+9 (45) day period in which the individual is delinquent in any
46+10 payment due under a court order for the support of a child of the
47+11 individual.
48+12 SECTION 2. IC 12-14-30-8 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
49+13 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
50+14 1, 2022]: Sec. 8. The division shall assign individuals who are
51+15 subject to the work requirements established under 7 U.S.C.
52+16 2015(d)(1) to an employment and training program (as defined in
53+17 7 U.S.C. 2015(d)(4)(B)).
