6 many years and dedicated much of his life to community

9 of beautiful flower gardens around the Evansville community
10 to construction work at various local parks, including Lorraine

13 perhaps his most significant contribution as a volunteer came
14 when Steve became the trainer of EVIE the Litter Dog;

17 the creation of Steve's wife, Susan;

1 Whereas, Keep Evansville Beautiful partners with
2 businesses, government, schools, churches, and neighborhoods
3 in order to create a sustained focus on the beautification of
4 Evansville;
5 Whereas, After Steve trained EVIE to pick up litter, he and
6 EVIE became a full-time act, traveling over 22,000 miles,
7 visiting more than 1,000 classrooms, participating in 135 litter
8 cleanups, and taking their message to over 150,000 people;
9 Whereas, Steve was also an avid hunter and lover of
10 nature, supporting Ducks Unlimited and transforming his 3.5

12 Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation; and
13 Whereas, Steve will be greatly missed by his family, friends,
14 and the innumerable other local residents whose lives he
