| 13 | 13 | | I offer the following resolution and move its adoption: |

| 14 | 14 | | 1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Sally Sloan for her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 2 contributions to Indiana's public education. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 3 Whereas, Sally Sloan was a public high school teacher, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 4 having taught for 15 years at Kouts High School; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 5 Whereas, Throughout her career, Sloan has been deeply |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 6 involved with her work, serving as the media specialist for the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 7 East Porter County School Corporation's middle school and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 8 high school, sponsoring the yearbook, directing plays, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 9 sponsoring the school's Media Club; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 10 Whereas, Sloan is a lifelong Hoosier, growing up in Muncie |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 11 Community Schools before earning her Bachelor's Degree from |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 12 Ball State and her Master's Degree from Purdue Calumet in |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 13 Educational Media and English; |

| 27 | 27 | | 14 Whereas, In 1989, Sloan began working for the American |

| 28 | 28 | | 15 Federation of Teachers, ultimately serving as a lobbyist from |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 16 2000 until her retirement in 2022; |

| 30 | 30 | | 17 Whereas, In addition to her professional dedication as a |

| 31 | 31 | | 18 teacher, Sloan is also a faithful board member of the Castleton |

| 32 | 32 | | 19 Church of the Nazarene; and |
