11	11	MADAM PRESIDENT:
12	12	I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
13	13	1 A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing the Indiana Wing
14	14	2 of the Civil Air Patrol for its Cadet Program.
15	15	3 Whereas, Founded on December 1, 1941, the Civil Air
16	16	4 Patrol (CAP) was created to provide emergency services
17	17	5 nationwide as a civilian auxiliary to the U.S. Air Force;
18	18	6 Whereas, Comprised of vigilant citizens, CAP's 60,000
19	19	7 volunteers protect the homeland by engaging in search and
20	20	8 rescue missions and providing disaster relief while also
21	21	9 promoting aviation and related fields through aerospace
22	22	10 education;
23	23	11 Whereas, Focused on shaping future leaders, the Indiana
24	24	12 Wing's Cadet Program transforms young Hoosiers ages 12 to
25	25	13 21 into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders through a
26	26	14 curriculum that emphasizes leadership, aerospace education,
27	27	15 fitness, and character;
28	28	16 Whereas, Cadets have the opportunity to earn academic
29	29	17 scholarships to further their studies in fields such as
30	30	18 engineering, science, aircraft mechanics, aerospace medicine,
31	31	19 and meteorology, and those who achieve cadet officer status

33	33	1 can enter the U.S. Air Force as an Airman First Class (E3);
34	34	2 Whereas, Indiana Wing cadets contribute to the Wing's
35	35	3 emergency services role, participating in ground teams and
36	36	4 communications, comprising a crucial component of CAP's
37	37	5 emergency service mission;
38	38	6 Whereas, Every July, the Indiana Wing hosts the Indiana
39	39	7 Wing Summer Encampment at Camp Atterbury, where cadets
40	40	8 develop leadership skills, learn about aerospace, develop
41	41	9 healthy exercise habits, and have fun;
42	42	10 Whereas, CAP cadets can participate in CyberPatriot, a
43	43	11 National Youth Cyber Education Program sponsored by the Air
44	44	12 Force Association, where teams compete and learn about
45	45	13 cybersecurity by defending a computer network against a
46	46	14 virtual cyber attack;
47	47	15 Whereas, The Johnson Flight Academy is a two-week
48	48	16 National Cadet Special Activity that provides CAP cadets with
49	49	17 glider, balloon, or powered flight instruction; and
50	50	18 Whereas, The Indiana Wing of CAP demonstrates an
51	51	19 outstanding commitment to the youth of Indiana through their
52	52	20 Cadet Program, providing opportunities for personal growth,
53	53	21 leadership development, and aviation education while instilling
54	54	22 the values of citizenship, character, and service to the
55	55	23 community and nation: Therefore,
56	56	24 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
57	57	25 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
58	58	26 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate recognizes the
59	59	27 Indiana Wing of the Civil Air Patrol for its Cadet Program.
60	60	28 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
61	61	29 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Indiana Wing of the
62	62	30 Civil Air Patrol.
