2626 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
2727 elections.
2828 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
2929 1 SECTION 1. IC 3-8-1-34, AS AMENDED BY P.L.233-2015,
3030 2 SECTION 1, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE
3131 3 JANUARY 1, 2025]: Sec. 34. (a) A candidate for a school board office
3232 4 must have resided in the school corporation for at least one (1) year
3333 5 before the election.
3434 6 (b) This subsection applies to a candidate for a school board office
3535 7 seeking to represent an election district that consists of less than the
3636 8 entire school corporation. The candidate must have resided in the
3737 9 election district for at least one (1) year before the election.
3838 10 (c) A candidate for a school board office may not be an
3939 11 employee or agent of that school corporation.
