Synopsis: Mental health grants. Provides that the division of mental
health and addiction may not exclude a for-profit organization from
consideration and any award of a grant that is administered by the
division that is for mental health care and services solely because the
organization is a for-profit organization.
Effective: July 1, 2024.

HOUSE BILL No. 1070
A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
human services.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. IC 12-21-5-9 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
3 1, 2024]: Sec. 9. Except as required by federal law, the division may
4 not exclude a for-profit organization from:
5 (1) consideration; and
6 (2) any award;
7 of a grant that is administered by the division for mental health
8 care and services solely because the organization is a for-profit
9 organization.
