Synopsis: Repeal of economic enhancement district law. Repeals the
chapter in the Indiana Code authorizing the legislative body of a first
class city to establish a special assessment district known as an
economic enhancement district.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to repeal a provision of the Indiana Code
concerning local government.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. IC 36-7-40 IS REPEALED [EFFECTIVE UPON
2 PASSAGE]. (Economic Enhancement Districts).
3 SECTION 2. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] (a) An economic
4 enhancement district established before the effective date of the
5 repeal of IC 36-7-40 by this act is abolished on the effective date of
6 this act.
7 (b) This SECTION expires July 1, 2025.
8 SECTION 3. An emergency is declared for this act.
