2828 A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning Medicaid.
2929 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
3030 1 SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] (a) The legislative
3131 2 council is urged to assign to an appropriate committee during the
3232 3 2024 legislative interim the topic of studying the feasibility and
3333 4 benefit of applying for and implementing a Section 1115 Medicaid
3434 5 demonstration waiver or any other Medicaid waiver to include
3535 6 nutrition supports for the following Medicaid recipients:
3636 7 (1) Medicaid recipients with chronic diseases that are
3737 8 impacted by nutrition and diet.
3838 9 (2) Pregnant women.
3939 10 (3) Children.
4040 11 The study under this SECTION must include a review of other
4141 12 states that have implemented such a Medicaid waiver.
4242 13 (b) This SECTION expires January 1, 2025.
4343 14 SECTION 2. An emergency is declared for this act.
