Effective Date: July 1, 2024. Explanation of State Expenditures: Beginning in FY 2025, provisions in this bill require employees at the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ISBVI), the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD), and laboratory schools established by state educational institutions (SEIs) to complete child sexual trafficking prevention training. This represents a workload increase for impacted schools. [ISBVI, ISD, and SEIs receive state funding through General Fund appropriations.] Explanation of State Revenues: Explanation of Local Expenditures: Provisions in this bill require employees at public schools to complete child sexual trafficking prevention training. This represents a workload increase for impacted schools that may be offset if existing human trafficking training is modified to include components in recognizing child sexual trafficking.
