2525 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
2626 natural and cultural resources.
2727 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
2828 1 SECTION 1. IC 14-8-2-71.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
2929 2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
3030 3 1, 2025]: Sec. 71.5. "Disabled veteran deer and turkey hunting
3131 4 license bundle", for purposes of IC 14-22-12, has the meaning set
3232 5 forth in IC 14-22-12-1.5(c).
3333 6 SECTION 2. IC 14-22-12-1.5, AS AMENDED BY P.L.151-2012,
3434 7 SECTION 20, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE
3535 8 JULY 1, 2025]: Sec. 1.5. (a) As used in this section, "qualified
3636 9 individual" means an individual who:
3737 10 (1) is a resident of Indiana;
3838 11 (2) has served in the armed forces of the United States; and
3939 12 (3) has a service connected disability, as evidenced by:
4040 13 (A) records of the United States Department of Veterans
4141 14 Affairs; or
4242 15 (B) disability retirement benefits awarded to the individual
4343 16 under laws administered by the United States Department of
4444 17 Defense.

4646 1 (b) A qualified individual is entitled to reduced fee hunting and
4747 2 fishing licenses under this section.
4848 3 (c) As used in this section, "disabled veteran deer and turkey
4949 4 hunting license bundle" means a license sold to a qualified
5050 5 individual who bundles the following licenses:
5151 6 (1) A resident yearly license to take a deer with a shotgun,
5252 7 muzzle loading gun, rifle, or handgun.
5353 8 (2) A resident yearly license to take a deer with a:
5454 9 (A) bow and arrow; or
5555 10 (B) crossbow and bolt.
5656 11 (3) A resident yearly license to take a turkey in the spring
5757 12 turkey season and a turkey in the fall turkey season.
5858 13 (d) The disabled veteran deer and turkey hunting license bundle
5959 14 allows an individual to take one (1) antlered deer and two (2)
6060 15 antlerless deer or three (3) antlerless deer in the following seasons
6161 16 combined in one (1) year:
6262 17 (1) Archery.
6363 18 (2) Firearms.
6464 19 (3) Muzzleloader.
6565 20 (4) Special antlerless only.
6666 21 (c) (e) Each year a qualified individual may obtain:
6767 22 (1) both:
6868 23 (A) a resident yearly license to fish; and
6969 24 (B) a resident yearly license to hunt; or
7070 25 (2) a resident yearly license to hunt and fish;
7171 26 by paying a reduced license fee of two dollars and seventy-five cents
7272 27 ($2.75) instead of the fee prescribed by section 1 of this chapter.
7373 28 (f) Each year a qualified individual may obtain a disabled
7474 29 veteran deer and turkey hunting license bundle by paying a fee of
7575 30 eighty dollars ($80).
7676 31 (d) (g) Each decade a qualified individual may obtain:
7777 32 (1) both:
7878 33 (A) a resident license to fish that is valid for ten (10) years;
7979 34 and
8080 35 (B) a resident license to hunt that is valid for ten (10) years; or
8181 36 (2) a resident license to hunt and fish that is valid for ten (10)
8282 37 years;
8383 38 by paying a reduced license fee of twenty-seven dollars and fifty cents
8484 39 ($27.50).
8585 40 (e) (h) An applicant for a reduced fee license under this section
8686 41 must do the following:
8787 42 (1) Request the license from:

8989 1 (A) the department;
9090 2 (B) an agent appointed by the director under IC 14-22-11-3; or
9191 3 (C) the clerk of the circuit court who is an authorized
9292 4 representative of the department under IC 14-22-11-3 in the
9393 5 county in which the individual resides.
9494 6 (2) Present evidence that the applicant is a qualified individual.
