25	25	A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
26	26	natural and cultural resources.
27	27	Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
28	28	1 SECTION 1. IC 14-8-2-71.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
29	29	2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
30	30	3 1, 2025]: Sec. 71.5. "Disabled veteran deer and turkey hunting
31	31	4 license bundle", for purposes of IC 14-22-12, has the meaning set
32	32	5 forth in IC 14-22-12-1.5(c).
33	33	6 SECTION 2. IC 14-22-12-1.5, AS AMENDED BY P.L.151-2012,
34	34	7 SECTION 20, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE
35	35	8 JULY 1, 2025]: Sec. 1.5. (a) As used in this section, "qualified
36	36	9 individual" means an individual who:
37	37	10 (1) is a resident of Indiana;
38	38	11 (2) has served in the armed forces of the United States; and
39	39	12 (3) has a service connected disability, as evidenced by:
40	40	13 (A) records of the United States Department of Veterans
41	41	14 Affairs; or
42	42	15 (B) disability retirement benefits awarded to the individual
43	43	16 under laws administered by the United States Department of
44	44	17 Defense.

46	46	1 (b) A qualified individual is entitled to reduced fee hunting and
47	47	2 fishing licenses under this section.
48	48	3 (c) As used in this section, "disabled veteran deer and turkey
49	49	4 hunting license bundle" means a license sold to a qualified
50	50	5 individual who bundles the following licenses:
51	51	6 (1) A resident yearly license to take a deer with a shotgun,
52	52	7 muzzle loading gun, rifle, or handgun.
53	53	8 (2) A resident yearly license to take a deer with a:
54	54	9 (A) bow and arrow; or
55	55	10 (B) crossbow and bolt.
56	56	11 (3) A resident yearly license to take a turkey in the spring
57	57	12 turkey season and a turkey in the fall turkey season.
58	58	13 (d) The disabled veteran deer and turkey hunting license bundle
59	59	14 allows an individual to take one (1) antlered deer and two (2)
60	60	15 antlerless deer or three (3) antlerless deer in the following seasons
61	61	16 combined in one (1) year:
62	62	17 (1) Archery.
63	63	18 (2) Firearms.
64	64	19 (3) Muzzleloader.
65	65	20 (4) Special antlerless only.
66	66	21 (c) (e) Each year a qualified individual may obtain:
67	67	22 (1) both:
68	68	23 (A) a resident yearly license to fish; and
69	69	24 (B) a resident yearly license to hunt; or
70	70	25 (2) a resident yearly license to hunt and fish;
71	71	26 by paying a reduced license fee of two dollars and seventy-five cents
72	72	27 ($2.75) instead of the fee prescribed by section 1 of this chapter.
73	73	28 (f) Each year a qualified individual may obtain a disabled
74	74	29 veteran deer and turkey hunting license bundle by paying a fee of
75	75	30 eighty dollars ($80).
76	76	31 (d) (g) Each decade a qualified individual may obtain:
77	77	32 (1) both:
78	78	33 (A) a resident license to fish that is valid for ten (10) years;
79	79	34 and
80	80	35 (B) a resident license to hunt that is valid for ten (10) years; or
81	81	36 (2) a resident license to hunt and fish that is valid for ten (10)
82	82	37 years;
83	83	38 by paying a reduced license fee of twenty-seven dollars and fifty cents
84	84	39 ($27.50).
85	85	40 (e) (h) An applicant for a reduced fee license under this section
86	86	41 must do the following:
87	87	42 (1) Request the license from:

89	89	1 (A) the department;
90	90	2 (B) an agent appointed by the director under IC 14-22-11-3; or
91	91	3 (C) the clerk of the circuit court who is an authorized
92	92	4 representative of the department under IC 14-22-11-3 in the
93	93	5 county in which the individual resides.
94	94	6 (2) Present evidence that the applicant is a qualified individual.
