Hatfield BILL STATUS: As Introduced FIRST SPONSOR: FUNDS AFFECTED:XGENERAL IMPACT: State DEDICATED FEDERAL Summary of Legislation: The bill establishes the Indiana Eating Disorder Council (Council). It sets forth the membership and duties of the Council. Effective Date: July 1, 2024. Explanation of State Expenditures: The bill establishes the Indiana Eating Disorder Council (Council) which will result in a small increase in state expenditures. The Council consists of 19 members, including 7 state employees and 12 lay members, with the lay members appointed by the Governor. The Council is required to meet quarterly with each member being eligible for mileage and travel reimbursement (members are not eligible to receive per diem). As of December 2023, mileage is reimbursed at $0.49 per mile. The Council is required to submit a report by December 1 each year to the Legislative Council and the Governor. Family and Social Services Administrations (FSSA): The bill requires FSSA to staff the Council. The bill’s requirements are within the agency’s routine administrative functions and should be able to be implemented with no additional appropriations, assuming near customary agency staffing and resource levels.
