29	29	A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
30	30	agriculture and animals.
31	31	Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
32	32	1 SECTION 1. IC 15-19-7-2, AS AMENDED BY P.L.99-2012,
33	33	2 SECTION 21, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE
34	34	3 JULY 1, 2024]: Sec. 2. (a) As used in this chapter, "commercial feed"
35	35	4 means all materials, or combinations of materials, that are distributed
36	36	5 or intended for distribution for use as feed or for mixing in feed for
37	37	6 animals, except as exempted in this section. The term includes the
38	38	7 hemp or a substance derived from hemp added for use as feed or
39	39	8 for mixing in feed for any of the following:
40	40	9 (1) A pet.
41	41	10 (2) A specialty pet.
42	42	11 (3) A horse.
43	43	12 (4) An animal that will not be sold for human consumption.
44	44	13 (b) The term does not include the following unless labeled with
45	45	14 nutritional claims or adulterated within the meaning of section 29(1) of
46	46	15 this chapter:
47	47	16 (1) Unmixed whole seeds.
48	48	17 (2) Unmixed, physically altered whole seeds that have not been

51	51	2 (3) Commodities, compounds, or substances excluded by rules
52	52	3 adopted by the state chemist under IC 4-22-2 in accordance with
53	53	4 section 34 of this chapter.
54	54	5 SECTION 2. IC 15-19-7-7.3 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
