1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating 2023
2 Indiana Mr. Football Josh Ringer of East Central High School.
3 Whereas, The East Central Trojans won the IHSAA 2023
4 Class 4A state football championship at Lucas Oil Stadium on
5 November 25, 2023;
6 Whereas, Senior running back Josh Ringer, a Miami
7 University verbal commit, had 34 carries for 251 yards and
8 three touchdowns;
9 Whereas, Ringer, who entered Saturday as No. 20 on the
10 state's all-time rushing yards list, completes his final season
11 with 2,880 yards rushing this season, 55 rushing touchdowns,
12 278 receiving yards with five receiving touchdowns;
13 Whereas, Ringer helped lead the East Central High School
14 Trojans to back-to-back state championships and finished his
15 high school career with school records of 6,640 rushing yards
16 and 118 total touchdowns;
17 Whereas, Of 1,850 eligible votes, 66 percent of the ballots
18 included Ringer in the top spot of Mr. Football; and
19 Whereas, Ringer has shown a strong dedication to the sport
20 he loves and humbly accepted his award: Therefore,
21 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
22 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
23 the Senate concurring:

1 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
2 congratulates 2023 Indiana Mr. Football Josh Ringer.
3 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
4 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
5 Representative Randy Lyness for distribution.
