15	15	1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Kelley
16	16	2 Holdren.
17	17	3 Whereas, Kelley Holdren, MSN, MBA, CFRN, Chief Flight
18	18	4 Nurse and Administrative Director of the University of Chicago
19	19	5 Aeromedical Network (UCAN) at the University of Chicago
20	20	6 Medicine, passed away November 21, 2023, at the age of 48;
21	21	7 Whereas, Kelley started her nursing career at UChicago
22	22	8 Medicine in 1998 with clinical experiences that included
23	23	9 multiple specialty intensive care units, and then began her
24	24	10 flight career in 2004;
25	25	11 Whereas, Throughout her flight career, Kelley was a fierce
26	26	12 advocate for top-of-license practice for the UCAN team,
27	27	13 including creating a nurse-only model, and set the bar for
28	28	14 professional certification for the flight nurse team;
29	29	15 Whereas, A point of pride for Kelley was developing team
30	30	16 competencies in areas that most critical care transport teams
31	31	17 cannot provide, such as ECMO, cardiac devices, nitric, and
32	32	18 TXP neonatal ventilation;
33	33	19 Whereas, Kelley was the president of the Air & Surface
34	34	20 Transport Nurses Association (ASTNA) and was also past
35	35	21 president of the Illinois Association of Air and Critical Care
36	36	22 Transport (IAACCT), an organization that seeks to enhance
37	37	23 safety and education within the critical care transport
38	38	24 community;
39	39	25 Whereas, Kelley actively promoted collaboration with fire,

41	41	1 EMS, police, and hospital systems throughout Indiana and
42	42	2 Illinois;
43	43	3 Whereas, Kelley welcomed multiple health care professional
44	44	4 specialties to shadow the UCAN team and learn about its
45	45	5 specialized practice, ensuring safe transport of medically
46	46	6 complex patients across the entire lifespan;
47	47	7 Whereas, Kelley is survived by her husband, Cliff, and their
48	48	8 two daughters, Isabella and Hannah;
49	49	9 Whereas, Kelley, a nationally known flight nurse, is fondly
50	50	10 remembered by her UCAN team for her expertise in clinical
51	51	11 care, passion for critical care transport nursing, and her
52	52	12 approachable and supportive demeanor; and
53	53	13 Whereas, She was the epitome of a selfless and caring person
54	54	14 that all Hoosiers should honor and remember, along with all
55	55	15 the lives she saved and the first responders and nurses she
56	56	16 mentored and taught over her amazing career: Therefore,
57	57	17 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
58	58	18 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
59	59	19 the Senate concurring:
60	60	20 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly honors and
61	61	21 memorializes Kelley Holdren and her commitment to saving the
62	62	22 lives of people in her community and beyond.
63	63	23 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
64	64	24 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
65	65	25 Representative Hal Slager for distribution.
