1616 1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the
1717 2 importance of the Indiana Farm Service Agency and its
1818 3 employees across the state of Indiana.
1919 4 Whereas, The U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service
2020 5 Agency (FSA) supports farms and farming communities with
2121 6 programs including disaster relief, conservation programs,
2222 7 commodity price guarantee programs, and loan programs;
2323 8 Whereas, The Indiana FSA, the agency's central office for the
2424 9 state, administers farm commodity, disaster, and conservation
2525 10 programs for farmers, and makes guaranteed farm emergency,
2626 11 ownership, and operating loans through a network of 75
2727 12 Hoosier county offices;
2828 13 Whereas, The FSA's responsibilities are organized into five
2929 14 areas: Farm Programs, Farm Loans, Commodity Operations,
3030 15 Management, and State Operations. The agency continues to
3131 16 provide America's farmers with a strong safety net through the
3232 17 administration of farm commodity programs;
3333 18 Whereas, The FSA also implements ad hoc disaster programs.
3434 19 The FSA's longstanding tradition of conserving the nation's
3535 20 natural resources continues through the Conservation Reserve
3636 21 Program. Additionally, the agency provides credit to
3737 22 agricultural producers who are unable to receive private,
3838 23 commercial credit;
3939 24 Whereas, The men and women who comprise the Indiana FSA
4040 25 are public employees who dedicate their careers to public
4141 26 service by contributing to the industry of agriculture; and

4343 1 Whereas, The Indiana General Assembly is honored to extend
4444 2 its appreciation and deep gratitude to Indiana's FSA employees
4545 3 for their hard work, commitment, enthusiasm, and sacrifice in
4646 4 serving Indiana's farming community: Therefore,
4747 5 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
4848 6 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
4949 7 the Senate concurring:
5050 8 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly hereby
5151 9 recognizes the importance of agriculture in the Indiana and
5252 10 national economies for its remarkable capacity for providing
5353 11 food, fiber, feed, and fuel to our state and nation; and pays
5454 12 special attention to the employees of the Farm Service Agency
5555 13 for the work they do to implement federal programs for
5656 14 Indiana's agricultural industry.
5757 15 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
5858 16 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
5959 17 Representative Bob Cherry for distribution.
