DIGEST OF INTRODUCED RESOL UTION
Citations Affected:  Article 4, Section 2 of the Constitution of the
State of Indiana.
Synopsis:  Membership of the general assembly. Increases the
membership of the Indiana senate to 100 members and the membership
of the Indiana house of representatives to 200 members.
Effective:  This proposed amendment must be agreed to by two
consecutive general assemblies and ratified by a majority of the state's
voters voting on the question to be effective.

HOUSE JOINT
RESOLUTION
A JOINT RESOLUTION proposing an amendment to Article 4,
Section 2 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana concerning the
general assembly.
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. The following amendment to the Constitution of the
2 State of Indiana is proposed and agreed to by this, the One Hundred
3 Twenty-Third General Assembly of the State of Indiana, and is referred
4 to the next General Assembly for reconsideration and agreement.
5 SECTION 2. ARTICLE 4, SECTION 2 OF THE CONSTITUTION
6 OF THE STATE OF INDIANA IS AMENDED TO READ AS
7 FOLLOWS: Section 2. (a) The Senate shall not exceed fifty, nor have
8 one hundred (100) members.
9 (b) The House of Representatives one hundred members; and they
10 shall have two hundred (200) members.
11 (c) Senators and Representatives shall be chosen by the electors
12 of the respective districts into which the State Indiana may, from time
