7	7	1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing February 19, 2024,
8	8	2 as Jack and Jill of America Day at the Indiana State Capitol.
9	9	3 Whereas, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., is the premiere
10	10	4 organization dedicated to nurturing future African-American
11	11	5 leaders through cultural, educational, health, civic, and social
12	12	6 programming;
13	13	7 Whereas, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., boasts 262 chapters
14	14	8 nationwide, representing more than 50,000 family members,
15	15	9 with a significant presence in the state of Indiana;
16	16	10 Whereas, Each Jack and Jill of America chapter annually
17	17	11 plans programming activities guided by a comprehensive
18	18	12 five-point programmatic thrust, including cultural awareness,
19	19	13 educational development, health advocacy, civic engagement,
20	20	14 and social and recreational activities;

23	23	1 Whereas, Through its service projects, Jack and Jill of
24	24	2 America creates invaluable opportunities for children to
25	25	3 engage in activities that stimulate their growth and
26	26	4 development, fostering a sense of community and service
27	27	5 among youth;
28	28	6 Whereas, Jack and Jill of America actively promotes public
29	29	7 awareness and advocacy for children's interests through
30	30	8 lobbying, educational programming, dissemination of
31	31	9 materials, and organizing community and charitable events,
32	32	10 thereby advancing crucial issues such as child development,
33	33	11 quality of life, and children's rights; and
34	34	12 Whereas, The organization currently operates 262 chapters
35	35	13 across the United States with 41 of those chapters situated in
36	36	14 the Midwestern region under the exemplary leadership of
37	37	15 Regional Director Deidre Lindsey, including four chapters
38	38	16 serving the state of Indiana: Therefore,
39	39	17 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
40	40	18 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
41	41	19 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
42	42	20 recognizes February 19, 2024, as Jack and Jill of America Day
43	43	21 at the Indiana State Capitol in recognition of the significant
44	44	22 contributions made by Jack and Jill of America, Inc., to the
45	45	23 enrichment of children's lives and the betterment of
46	46	24 communities across the nation, and particularly within the state
47	47	25 of Indiana.
48	48	26 SECTION 2. That the Indiana House of Representatives
49	49	27 extends its gratitude to Jack and Jill of America, Inc., its
50	50	28 Mother members, Father's Auxiliary, and Associates, for their
51	51	29 unwavering dedication to the well-being and development of
52	52	30 children and families.
53	53	31 SECTION 3. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
54	54	32 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to the
55	55	33 Indianapolis and Circle City chapters of Jack and Jill of
56	56	34 America, Inc., in recognition of all Indiana chapters and as a
57	57	35 token of the Indiana House of Representatives' appreciation for
58	58	36 their outstanding service and commitment to the youth of our
59	59	37 state and nation.
