*HR1532* Introduced Version HOUSE RESOLUTION No. ___ Introduced by: Steuerwald ____________________________________ 1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Representative Randy 2 Lyness. 3 Whereas, Representative Randy Lyness, who was caucused 4 in to represent the citizens of House District 68 in 2015, will be 5 leaving the House Chamber for the last time at the end of the 6 2024 Legislative Session; 7 Whereas, During his time in the House of Representatives, 8 Representative Lyness has served as the Vice Chair of the 9 House Committee on Local Government, and as a member of 10 the House Commerce, Small Business and Economic 11 Development Committee and the House Employment, Labor 12 and Pensions Committee; 13 Whereas, Representative Lyness has prided himself on his 14 work to keep government small and to cut taxes for Hoosiers, 20242289 HR 1532/DI 140 2024 2 1 supporting the passage of a $1 billion tax relief package, the 2 largest tax cut in state history, in 2022, and the biennial budget 3 in 2023, which is expected to save taxpayers an estimated $430 4 million over the next two years via tax relief; 5 Whereas, In addition to his service as a state representative, 6 Representative Lyness has been a small business owner for over 7 33 years, and he owns and operates Randall Lyness Builders, 8 specializing in custom homes, remodeling, and small 9 commercial projects; 10 Whereas, Representative Lyness is married to his wife, 11 Linda, with whom he has three sons and 12 grandchildren, and 12 his entire family resides in District 68; and 13 Whereas, Representative Lyness has served his constituency 14 loyally and faithfully since his election to the House of 15 Representatives: Therefore, 16 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the 17 General Assembly of the State of Indiana: 18 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives 19 honors Representative Randy Lyness upon his retirement. 20 SECTION 2.
