1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Representative Mike
2 Speedy.
3 Whereas, Representative Mike Speedy, who was first elected
4 to represent the citizens of House District 90 in 2010, will be
5 leaving the House Chamber for the last time at the end of the
6 2024 Legislative Session;
7 Whereas, During his time in the House of Representatives,
8 Representative Speedy has served as the Chair of the House
9 Environmental Affairs Committee, and he is currently the Chair
10 of the House Financial Institutions Committee, as well as a
11 member of the House Judiciary Committee and House Roads
12 and Transportation Committee;
13 Whereas, Prior to serving in the Indiana House of
14 Representatives, Representative Speedy served southeast

1 Marion County on the 29-member Indianapolis City County
2 Council for nearly seven years. In this capacity, he concluded
3 his council services as Chairman of Public Works Committee;
4 Whereas, In addition to his service as a state representative,
5 Representative Speedy is a small-business owner and a licensed
6 lawyer, receiving his degree from Indiana University's School
7 of Law at Indianapolis, and he has a designation as a Certified
8 Commercial Investment Member;
9 Whereas, Representative Speedy has two children and has
10 volunteered as a mentor for the Indianapolis Big Brother Big
11 Sister chapter and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)
12 Young Eagles, and he is a member of Living Word Bible
13 Church; and
14 Whereas, Representative Speedy has served his constituency
15 loyally and faithfully since his election to the House of
16 Representatives: Therefore,
17 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
18 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
19 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
20 honors Representative Mike Speedy upon his retirement.
21 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
22 Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to
23 Representative Mike Speedy.
