34 | 34 | | 3 FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2024]: Sec. 3.5. (a) For purposes |
---|
35 | 35 | | 4 of this section, "qualified supervisor" means: |
---|
36 | 36 | | 5 (1) a licensed physician with training in psychiatric medicine; |
---|
37 | 37 | | 6 or |
---|
38 | 38 | | 7 (2) a licensed clinical psychologist. |
---|
39 | 39 | | 8 (b) The applicant for a license as a clinical social worker must have |
---|
40 | 40 | | 9 at least two (2) years of clinical social work experience after receiving |
---|
41 | 41 | | 10 a graduate degree in social work and under the supervision of a |
---|
42 | 42 | | 11 qualified supervisor. as determined by the board. |
---|
43 | 43 | | 12 (b) (c) If an individual is obtaining the clinical social work |
---|
44 | 44 | | 13 experience described in subsection (a) (b) in Indiana, the individual |
---|
45 | 45 | | 14 must be licensed as a social worker under section 1 of this chapter. |

46 | 46 | | 15 (c) (d) A doctoral internship may be applied toward the supervised |
---|
47 | 47 | | 16 clinical social work experience requirement. |
---|
48 | 48 | | 17 (d) (e) Except as provided in subsection (e), (f), the clinical social |

52 | 52 | | 3 (e) (f) Except as provided in subsection (g), (h), the clinical social |

53 | 53 | | 4 work requirement may not be performed away from the qualified |
---|
54 | 54 | | 5 supervisor's premises if: |
---|
55 | 55 | | 6 (1) the work is the independent private practice of clinical social |
---|
56 | 56 | | 7 work; and |
---|
57 | 57 | | 8 (2) the work is not performed at a place with the supervision of a |
---|
58 | 58 | | 9 qualified supervisor available. |
---|
59 | 59 | | 10 (f) (g) Any supervised clinical social work experience hours that an |
---|
60 | 60 | | 11 applicant accumulates under this chapter after being licensed as a |
---|
61 | 61 | | 12 social worker under section 1 of this chapter do not expire and may be |
---|
62 | 62 | | 13 used by the applicant to satisfy the supervised clinical social work |
---|
63 | 63 | | 14 experience requirements under this chapter. |

64 | 64 | | 15 (g) (h) Up to fifty percent (50%) seventy-five percent (75%) of the |
---|
65 | 65 | | 16 supervised clinical social work experience hours required under |
---|
66 | 66 | | 17 subsection (a) (b) may be accounted for through virtual supervision by |
---|
67 | 67 | | 18 a qualified supervisor described in subsection (a). (b). |

68 | 68 | | 19 (h) (i) After obtaining a temporary permit under section 11.5 of this |

69 | 69 | | 20 chapter, any supervised clinical social work experience hours that an |
---|
70 | 70 | | 21 applicant accumulates under this chapter before the temporary permit |

71 | 71 | | 22 expires may be used by the applicant to satisfy the supervised clinical |
---|
72 | 72 | | 23 social work experience requirements under this chapter during the |
---|
73 | 73 | | 24 following time after the applicant obtained the temporary permit: |

74 | 74 | | 25 (1) For not more than four (4) years. |
---|
