SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Senator Clyde "Chip"
2 Perfect upon his retirement from the Indiana Senate.
3 Whereas, Senator Perfect has faithfully and honorably
4 served the constituents of District 43, encompassing all of
5 Dearborn, Jefferson, Ohio, Scott, and Switzerland Counties and
6 part of Jennings County, since being elected in 2014;
7 Whereas, Senator Perfect served as chair of the Senate
8 Committees on Commerce and Technology and Insurance and
9 Financial Institutions, ranking member of the Senate
10 Committee on Utilities, and member of the Senate Committees
11 on Agriculture, Appropriations, Local Government, Natural
12 Resources, Pensions and Labor, and Tax and Fiscal Policy;
13 Whereas, During his tenure, Senator Perfect espoused a
14 belief in small government, introducing a limited number of
15 bills and focusing his efforts on topics including gaming
16 matters, economic and tourism development, workforce
17 development, career and technical education, agricultural
18 promotion and preservation, protecting property rights, and
19 streamlining government operations;

1 Whereas, Outside of the Statehouse, Senator Perfect has
2 been an avid supporter of commerce and community, serving as
3 a board member for the Hospital, 4-H Fair, Chamber of
4 Commerce, and Convention, Visitor, & Tourism Bureau for
5 Dearborn County, the National Ski Areas Association, and the
6 Midwest Ski Areas Association, and served as a soccer coach
7 for the Soccer Association for Youth and a varsity volleyball
8 coach for the Indiana High School Athletic Association;
9 Whereas, Senator Perfect is a graduate of Purdue
10 University with a degree in agriculture education, but his
11 career outside the Senate has revolved around numerous
12 entrepreneurial endeavors, including as the co-founder and
13 partner of SPARC Realty, founder and owner of Midwest
14 Service Warehouse, co-founder of North Peaks Resorts, co-
15 founder of Greendale Cinema, co-founder and franchisee of
16 LaRosa's in Greendale, co-founder of RPM Productions, co-
17 founder and franchisee of Buffalo Wings & Rings in Greendale,
18 and is the co-founder, co-owner, President, and CEO of skiing
19 resort Perfect North Slopes, which he has operated for the last
20 44 years in his home of Lawrenceburg, Indiana;
21 Whereas, Senator Perfect has received a number of awards,
22 including the Dearborn County Businessman of the Year, the
23 Frachisee of the Year for Buffalo Wings & Rings, a national
24 "SAMMY" award from Ski Area Management, the Jim
25 VanderKelen Lifetime Achievement Award from the Midwest
26 Ski Areas Association, and was named an Outstanding Young
27 Hoosier by the Indiana Jaycees and an "Old Masters"
28 Distinguished Alumni by Purdue University; and
29 Whereas, Senator Perfect's steadfast leadership, business
30 insight, and unwavering dedication will be greatly missed by all
31 within the Indiana Senate and throughout the Statehouse:
32 Therefore,
33 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
34 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

1 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate honors Senator Chip
2 Perfect upon his retirement and thanks him for his faithful
3 service to the Indiana Senate and the people of Senate District
4 43.
5 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
6 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator Clyde "Chip"
7 Perfect and his family.
