12 | 12 | | I offer the following resolution and move its adoption: |

13 | 13 | | 1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring the Indiana School |
---|
14 | 14 | | 2 for the Blind and Visually Impaired. |
---|
15 | 15 | | 3 Whereas, The Indiana School for the Blind and Visually |
---|
16 | 16 | | 4 Impaired (ISBVI) was established in 1847, and is a residential |
---|
17 | 17 | | 5 school for Indiana youth who are blind or have low vision; |
---|
18 | 18 | | 6 Whereas, Students of the ISBVI can attend from pre-school |
---|
19 | 19 | | 7 through high school, starting at age 3 up to the age of 22; |
---|
20 | 20 | | 8 Whereas, ISBVI educates approximately 150 students on |
---|
21 | 21 | | 9 their campus and 300 students in their homes; |
---|
22 | 22 | | 10 Whereas, ISBVI has been recognized at the national level |
---|
23 | 23 | | 11 by peer schools for its practices, and has a strong education |
---|
24 | 24 | | 12 and administrative staff; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | 13 Whereas, Over the past 175 years, the ISBVI has developed |
---|
26 | 26 | | 14 unique and effective educational tools and techniques that are |

27 | 27 | | 15 unparalleled in the state of Indiana, resulting in students that |
---|
28 | 28 | | 16 are more aptly prepared for thriving in their personal |

35 | 35 | | 5 Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. |
