SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION to recognize Castleton United
2 Methodist Church (Castleton UMC) and Pastor Matt Landry for
3 advocating for affordable housing, feeding the hungry, and
4 reducing violence.

6 Whereas, Castleton United Methodist Church and Pastor
7 Matt Landry prioritize meeting the real needs of their
8 neighbors, advocating for affordable housing, addressing food
9 insecurity, and reducing violence;
10 Whereas, Castleton UMC partners with Fletcher Place
11 Community Center to help individuals and families break free
12 from the cycle of poverty through hope, compassion, and
13 renewal, providing access to programs designed to ease the
14 burden for low-income and moderate-income people who
15 struggle with life's basic needs;
16 Whereas, Castleton UMC partners with Habitat for
17 Humanity to bring people together to build homes and
18 communities, with a vision for everyone to have a decent place
19 to live;
20 Whereas, Castleton UMC partners with Community

1 Cupboard of Lawrence and Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana to
2 serve their residents and fight against hunger throughout
3 Central Indiana; and
4 Whereas, Castleton UMC partners with Faith in Indiana, an
5 organization for faith communities to work together for racial
6 and economic equality with a plan to make Indiana a more
7 inclusive, safe, and free place to live: Therefore,
8
9 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
10 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
11 SECTION 1.That the Indiana Senate recognizes, Castleton
12 United Methodist Church and Pastor Matt Landry for their
13 advocacy for affordable housing, feeding the hungry, and
14 reducing violence.
15 SECTION 2. That the Secretary of the Senate is hereby
16 directed to transmit one copy of this Resolution to Castleton
17 United Methodist Church and Pastor Matt Landry.
