SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing the importance of
2 Career and Technical Education.
3 Whereas, Career and Technical Education ("CTE") offers
4 Hoosier students the opportunity to gain the academic,
5 technical, and employment skills necessary for true career
6 readiness through authentic, meaningful experiences that
7 improve the quality of education and increase engagement and
8 achievement;
9 Whereas, By offering integrated programs of study that link
10 secondary and post-secondary education and lead to the
11 attainment of industry-recognized credentials, CTE prepares
12 students for fulfilling careers in their chosen fields;
13 Whereas, CTE fosters productivity in business, ensures a
14 skilled Hoosier workforce, and contributes to Indiana's position
15 as a leader in the international marketplace; and
16 Whereas, The Association for Career and Technical
17 Education celebrates CTE Month each February, which
18 provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of high-
19 quality CTE programs in our schools: Therefore,

1 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
2 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
3 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate recognizes the
4 importance of Career and Technical Education.
5 SECTION 2. That the Secretary of the Senate is hereby
6 directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Indiana
7 Coordinating Council for Career and Technical Student
8 Organizations.
