2424 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning

2626 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
2727 1 SECTION 1. IC 32-28-16 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
2828 2 AS A NEW CHAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE

3030 4 Chapter 16. False Liens
3131 5 Sec. 1. A person who, knowing or having reason to know that a
3232 6 lien or other encumbrance:
3333 7 (1) is false; or
3434 8 (2) contains a material misrepresentation;
3535 9 files the lien or other encumbrance against property owned by
3636 10 another person commits malicious interference with property, a
3737 11 Level 6 felony.
3838 12 SECTION 2. IC 35-52-32-1.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA
