33 | 33 | | 4 Chapter 28.4. Project Lifesaver Program |
---|
34 | 34 | | 5 Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "Project Lifesaver" means the |
---|
35 | 35 | | 6 community based, public safety, nonprofit organization that |
---|
36 | 36 | | 7 provides: |
---|
37 | 37 | | 8 (1) law enforcement agencies; |
---|
38 | 38 | | 9 (2) fire and rescue agencies; and |
---|
39 | 39 | | 10 (3) caregivers; |
---|
40 | 40 | | 11 with a program designed to protect and locate an individual with |
---|
41 | 41 | | 12 a cognitive disorder who is prone to wandering behavior. |

42 | 42 | | 13 Sec. 2. Not later than January 1, 2026, a county shall establish |
---|
43 | 43 | | 14 and maintain its own Project Lifesaver program. |

44 | 44 | | 15 Sec. 3. The county fiscal body of a county shall appropriate and |

45 | 45 | | 16 approve the money necessary for the county to comply with this |
---|
46 | 46 | | 17 chapter. |

49 | 49 | | 2 shall ensure that a county complies with this chapter. |

50 | 50 | | 3 (b) The division of disability and rehabilitative services shall |

51 | 51 | | 4 report, in an electronic format under IC 5-14-6, county compliance |

52 | 52 | | 5 to the general assembly not later than March 1, 2026. |
