HOUSE BILL No. 1377 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning motor vehicles. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana: 1 SECTION 1. IC 9-13-2-6.2 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE 2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 3 1, 2025]: Sec. 6.2. "Automated tractor-trailer" means a tractor: 4 (1) that is towing a trailer or semitrailer; and 5 (2) with respect to which at least one (1) aspect of a safety 6 critical control function of the tractor occurs without direct 7 input from an individual operating the tractor. 8 SECTION 2. IC 9-13-2-74.3 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE 9 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 10 1, 2025]: Sec. 74.3. "Human tractor-trailer operator" means an 11 individual who meets all state and federal qualifications to operate 12 a tractor in combination with a trailer. 13 SECTION 3. IC 9-21-8-60 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE 14 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 15 1, 2025]: Sec. 60.
