Synopsis: Free state park admission for non-motorized entry. Provides
that the department of natural resources may not charge an individual
traveling on foot, a bicycle, or horseback an admission fee for a state
park or recreation area.
Effective: July 1, 2025.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
natural and cultural resources.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. IC 14-19-3-0.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
3 1, 2025]: Sec. 0.5. The department may not charge an individual
4 who is traveling:
5 (1) on foot;
6 (2) on a bicycle; or
7 (3) on horseback;
8 an entrance fee for the individual to enter a state park or
9 recreation area.
