82 | 82 | | 30 11(2) of this chapter. The affirmative vote of a majority of the |

83 | 83 | | 31 members appointed under section 5(1) through 5(4) of this chapter |

85 | 85 | | 33 section 11(2) of this chapter. |

86 | 86 | | 34 Sec. 9. Subject to IC 2-5-1.2, the task force shall meet at the call |

88 | 88 | | 36 Sec. 10. (a) A lay or legislative member of the task force is |
---|
89 | 89 | | 37 entitled to receive the same per diem, mileage, and travel |
---|
90 | 90 | | 38 allowances paid to legislative members of interim study committees |

91 | 91 | | 39 established by the legislative council. |
---|
92 | 92 | | 40 (b) A member of the task force who is: |

93 | 93 | | 41 (1) a state employee; and |
---|
94 | 94 | | 42 (2) not a member of the general assembly; |

96 | 96 | | 1 is not entitled to a per diem. However, the member is entitled to |
---|
97 | 97 | | 2 reimbursement for traveling expenses as provided under |

98 | 98 | | 3 IC 4-13-1-4 and other expenses actually incurred in connection |

99 | 99 | | 4 with the member's duties as provided in the state policies and |
---|
100 | 100 | | 5 procedures established by the Indiana department of |
---|
101 | 101 | | 6 administration and approved by the budget agency. |
---|
102 | 102 | | 7 (c) Amounts paid under this section shall be paid from |
---|
103 | 103 | | 8 appropriations made to the legislative council or the legislative |
---|
104 | 104 | | 9 services agency. |
---|
105 | 105 | | 10 Sec. 11. The task force shall do the following: |

106 | 106 | | 11 (1) Study and assess the state of Nebraska law that requires |
---|
107 | 107 | | 12 electoral votes for President of the United States to be |
---|
108 | 108 | | 13 apportioned between: |
---|
109 | 109 | | 14 (A) congressional district presidential electors whose |
---|
110 | 110 | | 15 electoral vote is cast for the candidate who received the |
---|
111 | 111 | | 16 greatest number of votes in a congressional district; and |
---|
112 | 112 | | 17 (B) at-large presidential electors whose electoral vote is |
---|
113 | 113 | | 18 cast for the candidate who received the greatest number of |
---|
114 | 114 | | 19 votes in the state. |
---|
115 | 115 | | 20 (2) Make a recommendation as to whether Indiana should |
---|
116 | 116 | | 21 pass legislation to adopt the state of Nebraska model |
---|
117 | 117 | | 22 described in subdivision (1). |

118 | 118 | | 23 Sec. 12. The task force shall report its findings and |
