2525 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
2626 education.
2727 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
2828 1 SECTION 1. IC 20-19-3-37.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA
2929 2 CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS
3030 3 [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2025]: Sec. 37.5. (a) Not later than July 1,
3131 4 2026, the department shall:
3232 5 (1) establish; or
3333 6 (2) partner with a third party to establish;
3434 7 the Indiana student self-regulation program. The program must be
3535 8 an online platform that encompasses innovative approaches to
3636 9 assist students with self-regulation, resiliency, mental health, and
3737 10 employability matters.
3838 11 (b) The program established under subsection (a) must do the
3939 12 following:
4040 13 (1) Assist students with:
4141 14 (A) understanding mental health through self-regulation
4242 15 and self-awareness;
4343 16 (B) building resiliency through learning strategies to
4444 17 manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors;

4646 1 (C) building leadership, work ethic, and employability skill
4747 2 sets; and
4848 3 (D) daily healthy habits and positive mindsets;
4949 4 so that students are ready to engage, learn, and grow while at
5050 5 school.
5151 6 (2) Be available to all students in kindergarten through grade
5252 7 5.
