1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the St.
2 Joseph High School boys basketball team on winning the 2025
3 Indiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A state
4 championship title.
5 Whereas, On March 29, 2025, the St. Joseph High School
6 boys basketball team finished its season at Gainbridge
7 Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, by winning its first
8 Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) state
9 championship ever;
10 Whereas, The win by St. Joseph is the first time a South Bend
11 school has won the basketball state title since 1994;
12 Whereas, St. Joseph was the 18th team in IHSAA history to
13 make a return trip to the state finals a year after losing, and it
14 is the first Class 3A team to accomplish the feat of winning its
15 second chance game;
16 Whereas, Through hard work and determination, the St.
17 Joseph Huskies won the state championship game with a final
18 score of 56-52, defeating a resilient Indianapolis Crispus
19 Attucks Tigers team;
20 Whereas, The Huskies' strong second quarter gave them a
21 six-point lead at halftime, and that lead held until Crispus
22 Attucks made a run to tie the game with 1:14 remaining;
23 Whereas, St. Joseph's Chase Konieczny then grabbed a
24 crucial offensive rebound over a Crispus Attucks player and
25 dunked it. Teammates Brashaun Woods and Nick Shrewsberry

1 sealed the win with free throws;
2 Whereas, The Huskies finished their 2025 season with a final
3 record of 27-3; and
4 Whereas, St. Joseph High School student athletes Elijah King,
5 Nick Shrewsberry, AJ Boone, Chase Konieczny, Ethan
6 Roseman, Ryder Place, Le'brayln Booker, Brashaun Woods,
7 Austin Ratigan, Braylen White, Luke Trinter, and Charles
8 Grewe secured their place in Indiana history: Therefore,
9 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
10 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
11 the Senate concurring:
12 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly honors the
13 St. Joseph High School Huskies on winning the 2025 Indiana
14 High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Class 3A state
15 championship title.
16 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
17 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
18 Representative Maureen Bauer for distribution.
